I started with a case of 24 Hype Energy Drinks. Perhaps because I had so many, I drank the first one with no real thought about reviewing the taste, energy, or value. Hype Energy Shot Marionberry Flavor

Apparently, the Stig is unaware that a marionberry is really a type of berry. I find his ignorance equal parts amusing and pitiful. In the packaging and ingredients, I've already noted several differences between Hype and the standard 2oz. energy shot. Another notable difference is that Hype's shot contains carbs and calories. Hype Energy Shot does contain Sucralose, but that's strictly supplementary to the 7g of sugar. I find the overtly synthetically sweet flavor of some energy shots a little unsettling. Christmas in May! Srsly, I knocked back a Hype Energy Shot today, and if you take away the "tangy" portion of the drink, the density and taste of the MFP shot is highly similar to egg nog. I know it sounds crazy, but the thickness is what originally made me thing of it, but then there was a subtle nutmeg flavor lying beneath the syrupy tangy (almost rockstar-ish) sapor. The can makes me miss the Powerpuff Girls. It's so covered in adolescent female vigor, once I thought I saw Aileen Wuornos in the can reflection. With only 80 mg of caffeine, I can't say that it's a raging torrent of man hate, but it's enough to muster up a consequential kick in the junk. This has a pleasant taste with a tart bite to it, like Hype MFP. I enjoy the flavor, and also enjoy that the 10 calories in Hype Enlite help me maintain my schoolgirlish figure. I drink a lot of Hype MFP. Which is good, because I'm fashioning a hood for my super fly '95 Geo Storm with the cans.
