5-hour energy is great (pretty good on taste, but what's to taste with 2oz?) on all levels except value. Firstly, when I read the bottle, I thought about how this could forever change my life. I pictured myself stumbling through a bus station, asking people for $2.99 to get a bus ticket to my brother's house. I pictured myself tweaking at the GNC, sweating and rubbing my Chaser bottle like Gollum, looking around nervously to ensure no one saw me with my booty. Having taken this into consideration, I "drank the entire bottle". ...more 5-Hour Energy product information

I'll get straight to the point, this energy shot tastes the best of the lot, but taste is at the bottom of my list when buying energy shots, particularly since the caffeine is what makes the others taste bad. It's pretty easy to make an energy shot taste good, if you drop caffeine. Since I'm not sensitive to caffeine, in fact, I don't function properly without it, this drink was like a moderately tasty flavor shot that contained no energizing ingredients. My system was very unhappy about the lack of caffeine, I started to get a frontal lobe headache,...more 5-Hour Energy Decaf product information

5-Hour Energy Extra Strength

Chaser 5-hour energy extra strength is probably the best of the 5-hour product line. The bitterness is surprisingly low, until you realize that for a product called "Extra Strength", it seems to have a lot less caffeine than you'd expect. Since caffeine is bitter, taking it out seems to be 5-hour energy's approach to making a better tasting energy shot. I'd argue that this is the best tasting of the bunch, and I expected it to be the worst. Hopefully it's no surprise that I don't like 5-hour energy as a company. Aside from there being better products...more 5-Hour Energy Extra Strength product information

5-Hour Energy Grape

The other day at Staples, as I glared with contempt at a $3 price tag, it occurred to me that I hadn't reviewed an overpriced 5-hour energy shot in almost 2.5 years. At first, I thought, what's there to say? They're pretty much all the same: acceptably effective, drinkable, with a slight post-vomit aftertaste, and as overpriced and overrated as a Bruce Springsteen concert. Then I realized, while it doesn't do the consumer any good, energy enthusiasts know it's mediocre and overpriced, and average-Joe-third-shift-truck-driver-EMT-everyman swears by it (despite 100+ knock-offs, dare I say,...more 5-Hour Energy Grape product information

5-Hour Energy Lemon Lime

Firstly, "5-Hour Energy" is no longer "Chaser 5-Hour Energy". I think the lemon-lime tastes significantly better than the original Chaser 5-hour Energy Shot. It's pretty tart, and goes down a little gritty, but this doesn?t detract from the overall experience, and it's certainly worth overlooking since after the fact, you'll feel like you downed a handful of dexies. The bottle does explicitly indicate that I should drink the contents of the package, so that ruled out snorting or injecting it. This is really energizing, the caffeine content is listed as about the same as a cup of...more 5-Hour Energy Lemon Lime product information

5-Hour Energy Orange

Of the "new and improved flavors" berry is still my least favorite, the orange is relatively superior to berry, and the lemon-lime is slightly better than the orange. This is, of course, a matter of taste, but I find them all relatively enjoyable. The bitterness of the original "Chaser" branded products is almost completely gone, and the remaining tartness is almost enjoyable, like a warhead candy. I'm energized, and can stand by all the claims that this product makes. I usually don't drink this on an empty stomach, and have never expected it to do anything unreasonable, like...more 5-Hour Energy Orange product information
