Sugar can make or break a soda, and with 140 calories, and an eye-popping 37g of carbs, sugar must make up about 20% of the can. I almost had to go get a spoon to finish it. I love the flavor, but I also love butter, and I stopped eating that out of the tub months ago...sometimes we have to sacrifice for our health. I can't place what it tastes like, certainly a form of citrus fruit, but can't place my finger on which, maybe a blend of them...coated in sugar. Sobe No Fear tastes really fruity to me, and makes me a little sick after about 3/4 of the can. Mind you, I'm not afraid, since the can says "No Fear", I'm just a little sickened by the taste. The can colors are really energetic, and anything with flames makes me think of I-ROCZ, which makes me thirsty...thirsty for action. A thirst that unfortunately is not completely quenched when I open the can. I derive some energy from this soda, but it's not the best of the Sobe line. I really can't say enough bad things about this drink. From the packaging to the taste, it's all-around bad. The "No Fear" series as a whole has always seemed a little tacked on. I'm used to seeing "No Fear" stickers on the back of a 1998 Ford F-150 truck, otherwise tastefully decorated with a rebel flag back glass, through which you can make out the faint outline of a hunting rifle, and John Deere hat atop the head of a man who's likely wearing a "Big Johnson" shirt with the sleeves cut off. I found Sobe No Fear Sugar Free to be refreshing, and somewhat energizing. I still rank it second to Sobe's Adrenaline Rush. The taste was like a carbonated Gatorade fruit punch, with a hint of artificial sweetener aftertaste. It went down pretty smoothly, but the burp taste is horrific. Though this drink is relatively low in sodium, it does also have a dentist-office-like saltwater rinse flavor as well.
