Can Text:

Go Girl is the new ultra feminine drink from California that is specifically designed for women. By drinking Go Girl you are also helping others by contributing to breast cancer research with every purchase. Go Girl is distributed in Northern and Southern California and plans a national rollout over the next year.

Active Ingredients *Per can, not per serving:
1500mg taurine, 150mg caffeine, 150mg inositol, lots of vitamins B6 and B12, and 300mg of garcinia gambogia extract. That last ingredient is fairly new to western herbalists but has been used in the Orient for thousands of years. It has been clinically proven to inhibit the absorption and synthesis of fat and cholesterol and is used as an appetite suppressant.

Go Girl is super feminine, and made me feel very dainty drinking it. The great news is that it contains less that 3 calories in the whole can, so I can really enjoy Go Girl knowing it isn't loaded with sugar to give it that great taste. I was a bit disappointed that the flavor was not bubble gum or cotton candy as I think that would've been super girly, but the cherry flavor was just fine. This drink is only $1.69 which isn't terrible, though I think it would be great if the standard energy drink size came up to join Go Girl at 12oz rather than the usual 8oz. The only thing this drink is missing is a tiara or maybe a Bedazzler for that extra bling that girl really needs.

Jason's Review:
Before we even get started, yes, I drank this in the privacy of my own home. And if I choose to drink a tall hot pink can of hot pink energy soda in the privacy of my own home, then that's my business. After all, since it has 1200mg of taurine, 150mg of inositol, and 150mg of caffeine it's probably more man than your favorite energy drink (cough...red bull...cough) will ever be.

The taste is good, particularly for a sugar free beverage. The taste is something like mixing diet coke with a cherry flavored Icee. I was very pleased. It tastes exceptional when served iced cold.

No doubt on the energy. I had plenty of energy to get through the day at work, beat up the construction workers that were whistling at me, cook dinner, fold the clothes, mow the lawn, birth a litter of alpacas, raise a barn, and get my nails done before watching "So You Think You Can Dance" on the Tivo. Lots of the right stuff in the can, and I was pleased.

At $1.69/12oz., this is pretty close on the $/oz. ratio of the industry standard $1.99/16oz. Since the taste is good, it's sugar free, offers a sporty feminine look for women-on-the-go, lots of energy, and some of the proceeds go to breast cancer research, I'll still give it a better than average value rating as well.

The one drawback is the color, it's intense, so it can make your teeth slightly pink as well.

I've been taste-and-performance testing various energy drinks since they started giving red bull some competition around 2000 or so, and Go Girl not only tastes the best, but definitely does the job energy-wise. It goes well as a pre-clubbing drink and agrees with alcohol & food nicely. It also works great as a pre-workout run/bike booster. What it doesn't do is taste nasty or leave one feeling cracked out. If it's available in an area's stores, I will go out of my way to buy a 6 pack or more.

I went to 6 different stores (7 Eleven, Ralphs, Albertsons, Shell, Target & Mobil) in the cities of Long Beach, Torrance & Garden Grove, CA. I could not find it anywhere. Can anyone tell me a specific store in the southern CA area (ideally LS) where they were able to find this drink? Edited by Jason: You can order these drinks by the case from their website.

the advertising campaign for this product degrades the intelligence of women. The ad asks "why do you drink go girl", and the woman replies "because I'm a single mom". Ridiculous! That is not a reason to drink it, rather only demographic branding on the part of the company. The seller of the product denigrates the woman's mind by assuming a woman cannot think of a real reason to drink it but rather she only has a herd mentality and will drink it because supposedly other women with a similar demographic profile drink it. This company is an affront to women's intelligence. Edited by Jason: I've not seen the ad you referenced. My interactions with Go Girl have always been positive, and always been toward the furtherance of proactive women's causes, like breast cancer research. If you accurately described the ad, I would tend to agree with you. Why not just have the woman in the ad respond with, "Because I'm a single career/education oriented woman between the ages of 14-35, who is concerned about my figure, who doesn't particularly like coffee, but does like the color pink"?

I definitely noticed a decrease in appetite--which is great when you don't have time for a meal between work and school. I love the taste and the energy boost as well. I even have to admit the can is kind of cute. It's the most awesome energy drink ever!
