Can Text:

Carabao Energy Drink comes in a convenient 8.5oz short can. It's totally green except for a red circle with a long horned bull skull in the middle of it. At first I thought the skull had an X on it but when I looked closer it looks more like a dove or some type of bird on the forehead.

Active Ingredients *Per can, not per serving:
190% of your daily value of niacin, 430% of your B6, and 140% B12. Also taurine and caffeine.

Angie's Review: Reviews posted after May 2007 are written by a guest reviewer referred to from this point forward as "The Stig".
First I have to talk about how much I love the short can. I prefer these to the tall same size cans because they fit in the cup holder in my car better. As some of you may know by now, I have my energy drink on the way into work in the morning. I'm sure you can imagine what the back floorboard of my car looks like.

Carabao tasted great. It was like drinking pineapple candy. It was very sweet and enjoyable. I drank it quickly and enjoyed every sip. It wasn't carbonated, but it's not too heavy. I'll bet that this would get pretty thick if you didn't drink it right out of the ice box.

I really felt like this was a high energy drink. It's loaded with B6 and B12, but it also has a lot of sugar, calories, and high sodium. It's worth every calorie. I can't say enough good things about this drink. At $1.25 this ranks very high for value. This has more energy than most 8oz drinks and even adds and extra tenth of an ounce, as most are 8.3 or 8.4oz drinks. The folks at Carabao went the extra mile to give you more for your buck.

Jason's Review:
I've discovered one thing in my research of overseas energy drinks, Thailand blurs the lines between pancake syrup and energy drink. The flavor of Carabao is very pleasant, and I have a hard time not drinking the whole can very quickly. The best way to describe the flavor is about 1/2 condensed apple juice. Since the flavor made me want to drink it, I finished the drink in about 3 minutes.

A few minutes after finishing, I was wired like Ma Bell. Primarily, I was wide awake and alert. Perhaps Carabao is not a physical performance enhancer, but I can see it doing some powerful concentration enhancement.

This beverage was right up my value alley as well. Seeing as how the drink is on the verge of 200 calories already, one 8.5 serving is quite enough. The price is right where I believe it should be. We procured these from a local Asian food store $1.25 each, which is a price where Red Bull would gain a lot of value points, in my book.

Some Useful Carabao Information from Asians
The Azns share some truths, find Carabao at Asian stores, Carabao is easier to drink warm (even though I drink it cold) because, like pancake syrup, it gets thicker when it's cold. Also, chugging Carabao would be a little like chugging syrup. I love it though.

Heres'a fun fact...Carabao is the evolution of the drink we all know and love called, Red Bull.

Yes, Red Bull began it's life as "pancake syrup" from Thailand.

In the good ole days we drank Carabao in tiny glass bottles (it can still be found this way in most asian markets) where a case of 50 costs around $46us, or around 99 cents a bottle.

Carabao's recipe is essentially unchanged since the Swiss repackaged it as Red Bull..adding fizzy water and tripling the price. The two red bulls are even a rip from the Thai drink we were all so fond of when I was training back in 1991 in Thai Town/L.A.

To: Jason - RE: Seeling

From The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition.

seel (sl)
tr.v. seeled, seeling, seels
To stitch(sew) closed the eyes of (a falcon or hawk).

SO YOU BETTER STOP DOING THAT TO CAFFEINE!!

Last year I had maybe 4 of the small glass bottles of Carabao. I already had a very slight, not worrisome heart problem. Already that night I felt something funny in my chest and felt super tired. The next day i was hospitalized with a heartbeat of over 200 beats per minute. I was in the hospital for a week before it dropped to a safe zone and i could leave. wooow!

It isn't that great it tastes the same as Red Bull, which is like chew able Tylenol. Carabao was drinkable but not life-changing. Plus it doesn't have any chance of becoming a cult followed with a lame semi-unpronounceable name like that (it's no Bawls).
