Jason's Review:
I can't say enough good things about Kore. I have only one problem, the package I got came with a can of the energy drink, as well as a sample of the Kore Fire Starter energy caplets. I don't know if every can comes with the free trial kit, or if it was a promotion. Since I took one of the energy caplets with drink, I got an impressive energy boost. It was the kind of boost that makes you want to track wild game, not sit and study for exams.

The taste was good, not like something specific, but the colder the better it tastes. Another unique characteristic of this soda is that the aftertaste is good. I've found that the aftertaste, or at least belches, from most energy drinks usually taste stomach-churning.

Normally an 8oz. drink wouldn't get a very good value rating, no matter what. Since I'm reviewing the soda as it was purchased, I also got three energy caplets, which I feel makes it a really good value. If it was just the drink, I'm not sure I'd be compelled to by another one.

The initial taste was really good. It was nicely carbonated and moderately syrupy. Unfortunately there was a horrible Chaser like aftertaste that kicks in about 45 seconds after you drink it. Which to me is right when I think I'm clear from aftertaste worries. If you haven't read my review for Chaser yet, it was a lot like patchouli oil or sandalwood. The important part is that it was like drinking chilled smelling oil. After drinking some more I noticed that it hurt the back of my throat much in the same manner that NOS Pumped did, which would make sense as both were purchased from GNC. Maybe that's the feeling of the steroids going down. (There aren't really any steroids in Kore).

Because the aftertaste was so bad I tried to just chug it in hopes that I'd only have to experience the aftertaste one more time, but I couldn't get it all down. I wound up drinking about three quarters of the soda. After this my stomach was very unhappy about my previous decision to try to finish the drink. I coughed and gagged and felt horrible. My stomach convulsed like it was trying to empty the contents anywhere possible. Unfortunately for me I was in my car on my way to work. I thought I might feel better if I could just get a burp out but every time I tried, I thought I might vomit. As a result of this drink I had a horrible stomach all day and eventually had explosive, flatulent diarrhea.

On the upside, this was very high in energy. After consuming only 3/4 of this drink I felt very energized. I guess they warn you with the logo, because I definitely felt it. I felt nausea, heartburn, upset stomach, diarrhea... just kidding about the heartburn.

I didn't even try the free trial pack of Firestarter.

Can Text:

For blazing energy and powerful mental alertness. Kore U Drink It. U Feel It. What a catchy logo. The label for Kore is very appealing. The colors and layout of the logo and all goes together smoothly. Kore written sideways down the label looks like some Japanese letters with lightning striking it. This is another one of those cans where it looks like a piece of plastic was shrink wrapped around a standard energy drink can. It looks like more care was put into these than Spaz Juice cared to spare.
