Jason's Review:
Joker Mad Energy is really thick, and leaves a taste residue that lingers for some time. It's like the pasty mouth you get after drinking the 64oz. coke through all 3+ hours of "Lord of the Rings The Return of the King". I think I was more thirsty after drinking it. It tasted pretty good, but is high in sodium, and fairly high in calories. I'd say this drink is more for cola drinkers, people who like Coke and Pepsi. That's not to say it tastes exactly like a cola, but I'd put it more in that genre than calling it a citrus beverage, for instance.

As for energy, a healthy serving of the usual energizers makes this a fairly energizing drink. I was plenty awake and alert to write some code during and after consuming the "Mad Energy". It didn't really make me mad, but jumping around a little wouldn't have been completely out of the question.

The 16oz. can, as usual, a pretty good price for a slightly above average drink.

Joker Mad Energy gave me the shakes like the first time I drank Monster. I think it took a little while to kick in because by the time it did I had already forgotten that I drank the soda. (I suffer from short term memory loss) So I was a bit confused when I felt jittery.

Now for the bad news. Mad energy tasted like syrup. Only syrup. The carbonation was gone after the second sip, so it wasn't even like carbonated syrup. I made my stomach hurt a bit too. It wasn't like a stomachache, but like when you know something is going on in there that you don't want to add anything to.

Mad Energy? Definetely yes, but only if you can tolerate that the 'joke' is the taste.

Active Ingredients:
5000mg of their Energy Blend which includes caffeine, ginseng, and guarana as well as 2000mg of taurine and lots of B vitamins.

Can Text:

First of all, the can looks very menacing, and definitely gives me the impression that after I drink this I will be MAD!! ..and maybe French... Since he has a long straight mustache and goatee. What's with the 8 balls on his hat? I thought jesters had bells or something. Watch out for those French joker pool players. I like the little skulls with the jester frill things on them, but the smaller version on the top of the can really look like skulls with skirts or squids.

It's impossible to find much information about this soda and the company that makes it because neither have a website. The can states the company's reason for the name is because "Joker is loaded with a high potency energy blend to give you a lift when you need it most!" This reminds me of Dave Chapelle's song in Half Baked "Sampson Gets Me Lifted". Also the "high potency energy blend" is in the majority of energy drinks.

Joker energy drink was in the Va, PA area a few year ago then it could not be found. What happened? Edited by Jason: Around here, you can only get Joker Mad Energy in value stores (sporadically), like: Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Big Lots, etc.

Bought Joker Mad Energy at Big Lots in Morganton NC. My only other 'energy' drink experience was with a Red Bull more than a year ago.
Without expectations from the Joker drink this is what I found:
Product: Joker in the orange 16oz can.
Taste: grape with citrus. Nice taste.
Energy buzz: Nothing major. About like two cups of coffee.
Value: at thirty cents a can.....okay by me.
Negatives:
When put in ice chest cans will leak from the tab pull opening or at the rim of the lid. I've put the drinks in three different ice chests and this has happened in each of the ice chests.
My solution is not to put them in ice chests but rather to keep the cans at ambient temperature and then to open and pour the contents into a cup of ice. Easy solution.
Pros:
Nice taste, good price.
Will buy again.

like others, i also purchased joker energy drink from a local dollar tree. this stuff is great, i would compare the taste to that of Monsters M-80. unfortunately, joker is hard to find.

I went dollar tree one time and found Joker Mad Energy. months later i went back to buy more but sadly there was none, instead there was an energy drink called Ripit, i gave it a chance but it did not give me a kick AT ALL, taste was alright but nothing else, as if it was just an energy dirnk without the kick. i miss joker and i hope it comes back! i never tasted monster/red bull nothing, only rockstar which was great, but i love joker far more and only had one! i need more for Saturdays! jealous of all you people whose local stores still have Joker~

I have been drinking the Orange Flavored + Juice and found it be of value. As most of these energy drinks are sugar based, Joker Mad Energy uses the sugar of fruit juice, so compared to other drinks, the 17G of sugars are mostly juice based as apposed to sugar. I guy these from Big Lots & Dollar stores and are a great buy.

Ernest on 2009-11-20 12:54:03 said:
This is my fav energy drink.. I think i like it better than monster and amp and even rockstar... The great thing is that u cant really even compare them to joker because they're so different... But if i had to choose one drink over the other id have to choose Joker every time! I love it!! Its like fruit juice and monster mixed up! And for only $1!!!! U cant beat that! Lol the dollar tree i got them at was running out of stock so i bought a whole 24-can case! And im thinkn about goin back and buying the rest before someone else does lol! I love this stuff, why isnt it sold in more commercial places? Its such a good drink at an awesome price it would destroy the competition!

Justin on 2009-11-11 11:36:34 said:
i am drinking a joker right now and i think it is delicious and probably would even compare it to monster for the energy it gives me and how good it tastes. I found it at Dollar tree and my mom even liked it so she went and bought 5 to mix with vodka she never did so now i get to drink them all :]

Fruity orange can tastes better. really not that bad at all. I thought Joker Mad Energy was pretty good. dont know why its so cheap thats why im on this page - lookin it up.

Joker Mad Energy drink has a distinguished taste. It's only sold in dollar trees for 50 cents. Its not as good as monster but it's cheap, so u cant really complain.

I actually like Joker. There $1 compared to Monster which is $3. I personally think the orange flavor tastes like a mix of the green Monster, and Monster khaos. I rate it's taste an 8 because It's almost as good as monster!

I really like Joker Mad Energy. It's good because it does not kill my stomach when i throw one back without eating like some other brands (And trust me that is the worse pain i have ever felt)

I have just discovered Joker and Joker Juice at the local BigLots... and I must say, I am very pleased with my findings. They both taste great, Joker tastes just like redbull (with slightly less carbonation, most likely due to the sitting on the shelf) and the Joker Juice taste a lot like Rockstar Juiced. And the best part is... they are $.60 each. I have a reason to go to BigLots now! If you can find these drinks for this price, I recommend you buy them in bulk. Happy hunting. Edited by Jason: I have reason to believe Joker should taste like Monster, but if you say Red Bull, you're certainly entitled to your opinion ;)

Joker reminded me of a very cheap Monster knockoff, but i love it about twice as much as Monster. The aftertaste of this one reminds me a lot of the feeling in your throat if you smell a bit too much gasoline. Now that's power!

Joker Mad Energy is the BEST VALUE in the energy drink market. Always 60 cents at Big Lots, tastes the same as Monster. You're a SUCKER if you pay more than a dollar for ANY energy drink. DON'T BE A SUCKER!!!

Shane on 2008-11-03 00:59:09 said:
If I'm not mistaken, Joker is the original formula for Monster before it was changed. It's still energizing, and has a great smooth flavor, so it's a thumbs up in my book.

I bought Joker because it was cheap ($1). It tasted like your average energy drink and the kick was decent but it was what you would expect for a dollar.

joker was my favorite drink then they were all sold out because I bought the last one in town at the exxon. Edited by Jason: According to the comments, apparently you can still get it at Dollar Tree.

I'm glad I tried Joker Mad Energy. I stumbled across this at my local Circle K about 3 years ago. This one kept me awake when I needed it. The price was great too. In California I found it for about a buck fifty a can. This one tastes much better than a redbull. 3 Bucks gets you wired for a whole day. Definitely recommended to try.

Nick Adams on 2008-06-17 00:50:03 said:
I have only found Joker at the Dollar Tree up by where I work, and I think it's the best energy drink I've ever tasted. It reminds you of Red Bull without the nasty... crap taste that Red Bull gives you. Joker is a little lighter on the energy factor so it doesn't make you shake like Rockstar would. It has an orangey-pineapple taste, and I drink it while I work at Home Depot, and it keeps all of the annoying customers at the back of my mind. I would recommend this to anyone who likes energy drinks.

We use to drink Monster!!! Then we found the Jokers at sav-alot. I bought a case, loved them, went back got 2 more cases and now they are out. cant find them anywhere. where do I look???

Joker is one of the better energy drinks i have had. It definitely beats out Red Bull and up here we can get it for $.60 a can. It's a little watered down in taste but makes that up in pure energy.

Katelynn on 2008-05-22 17:31:36 said:
it is discusting and it causes alot of bed wetting anxity and alo to of things it makes u jittery and hyper but it can effect a groing brain and it might make u mental because the cheicals mess up ur brain there bad for u Edited by Jason: This is the first claim I've seen that energy drinks cause bed wetting. I don't wet the bed any more frequently than I did before I started drinking energy drinks

First tried Joker maybe 2 years ago, before I even had red bull. Red bull is gross compared to this. I'd drink a can of this and it'd keep me up all night for work. Circle K stopped selling it recently and I found it at Big Lots. Sixty Cents each. Bought 15 of them. Their are so many other disgusting energy drinks they sell, not sure why people buy them. Joker Mad Energy is THE best.

Melissa on 2008-04-18 18:22:16 said:
