While I think that the flagship Mana Energy Potion is the best Harcos product on the market, Zombie Blood does come in a close second. Interestingly, as the Stig pointed out, the subdued tartness of this lime-flavored enjoyment is actually why I prefer Mana Energy Potion. Zombie Blood has more of a green Kool-Aid flavor, and less of a citric acid burn I expect from green biohazard material. That's not saying the taste isn't enjoyable, just perhaps not exactly how I would have formulated it.
I was amply pleased with the energy boost I received from the caffeine/enzyme blend. The energy was steady, didn't spike me up, then suddenly I felt tired later. As with most energy shots, or products that have enzymes, I ate before drinking it, and recommend you do the same for maximum impact.
I wrestle with trying to legitimize Harcos products as a reasonable value. Let's try to do some pros and cons and see what we come up with:
Pros for Zombie Blood Energy Potion's Value Proposition
- Novelty of realistic zombie blood
- 3.4oz. for $4, compared to $3 for many 2oz. shots
- Tastes far more pleasing than many energy shots
Cons for Zombie Blood Energy Potion's Value Proposition
- It's $4, I can buy a value meal and small frosty at Wendy's for that
- While it tastes great compared to other energy shots, there are lots of $2/sub $2 energy drinks that have 16 delicious oz. in them
At the end of the day, novelty is really the only true selling point of Zombie Blood Energy Potion. The place that Zombie Blood may fall flat is that the novelty interest in Zombies, compared to vampires or World of Warcraft, is minimal. Also, anyone who disagrees with the previous statement is statistically not in the target market for popular novelty (Twilight/WoW) products, and/or generally likes to be disagreeable, and have no superfluous spending money. I think something related to Werewolves would have been more on theme and closer related to the current industry trends. Then, what do I know?

3Guest Reviewer: Reviews posted before May 2007 were written by Angie
Harcos contacted us concerning the review of their fourth product (after our rave reviews of Mana Energy Potion, Health Energy Potion and Blood Energy Potion). Of the lot, health energy is the only one I didn't care for the taste (I'm a different Stig than the actual reviewer, in case you were confused). I felt like it had a mild cinnamon taste, which was nice, but the mild flavor made the waxy shot texture more apparent than in Mana Energy Potion.
I mention this, as all the Harcos products are pretty tasty, but the decadent lime flavor of Zombie Blood Energy Potion is at least on par with the deliciously tart Mana Energy Potion. Zombie Blood is sweet and flavorful (not as tart as you might expect from a lime flavored 3.6oz shot).
Like Blood Energy Potion, the nutrients are similar to real blood. The other energizing agents and enzymes are affective. Having consumed zombie bodily fluid, I was surprisingly energized, and had little more desire to eat human brains than I normal.
As is the case with all Harcos products, the price is the proverbial "munch in the brain". As you shell out the $4 this product commands at the store, you can literally feel the money-hungry undead vendor dining veraciously on your bank account's viscera.

Can Text:
Zombie Blood is very similarly packaged to Blood Energy Potion, with the notable exception that the contents of Zombie Blood are green and not red. It's worth noting that the fingerprint on the outside of the Zombie blood is also red, indicating: 1) Harcos overlooked this packaging detail. 2) Decided it wasn't cost effective 3) The person packaging the zombie blood was bleeding. The front has the biohazard logo on the front, with the text, "Level 5 - Delicious Taste - Delicioso - Delicieux", followed by this numbered list:
- Similar nutrients to real blood
- Lifeless lime flavor
- up to 4 hours of energy
- Disturbing source of elecrolytes
- protein + iron
- zombie mutagen free
- not an actual biohazard
Then we move to the back of the package, "Preparation Instructions" has two options "Chilled", which they describe as:
- Pour Zombie Blood Energy Potion into a tumbler over 2-3 cubes of ice
- Enjoy
- Twist off cap while holding upright
- Tip pouch into mouth
- Taste the sweet nectar of the undead
Finally, there's a paragraph talking about Zombie Blood, "Zombie Blood Energy Potion contains similar nutritional content to real blood. If Zombie Blood Energy Potition should reanimate any undesirable creatures, leave room immediately and call the Zombie Protection Agency (ZPA). Reaminated creatures can only be stopped by shotgun blasts, fire and decapitation."
Zombie blood is not recommended for mortals under the age of 12.

At first I thought the taste of Zombie Blood was rather bad, but then again I bought it more for novelty than for drinking.
I did find later on that when mixed with Diet Coke [1 part Zombie Blood 3 parts soda] that it was actually much more plesent. Basicly it was Diet Coke with Lime, of course with a Zombie Kick.
I'm sure you legal adults out there can find a good alcohol to go with it.
