Can Text:

Since I acquired this drink, I've had an insatiable appetite for Dragonball Z, of course the dragon is obvious, but after a while, the poker chip with the unknown Japanese writing starts to look like a dragonball. I'm almost positive if I collect all 7 I can summon the dragon and bring Piccolo back to life. The can is all black with the faint charcoal grey Dragonball/Christian Hosoi design sunburst and dragon, with a brown poker chip (brown for root beer, as you can imagine, the grape flavor is purple, and the citrus is orange).

The can verbosely says of itself, "Zero Carbs, Zero Sugar, Ten Calories. Life without taking chances is not really living at all. We live for the exhilarating rush that happens when we risk it all. When the stakes are high, we seize the opportunity. We step up when others step out. We conquer our fears and crush our opponents. We play harder, last longer, live better and go ALL IN!

Manufactured for Bev Sci, LLC Dover, DE. Delaware is a lovely place to visit, and as an interesting sidenote, the only place I've ever seen Bawls bottles, for sale individually, Vamp NRG, Orange County Choppers or the elusive Rockstar Cola (which I bought, consumed, and never reviewed in 2005).

The following are % of USRDA per serving: 200% Vitamin C, 100% Niacin, 350% B6, 100% Folic Acid, 3500% B12, 50% Pantothenic Acid. Also, undisclosed amounts of: Taurine, Inositol, Caffeine, Astragalus, Panax Ginseng, Panax Quinquefolium and Schisandra.

After checking out the website (I could watch those cans spin for hours), I must admit the marketing guys for All In are geniuses. I know my fair share of poker players they will resort to anything to stay awake and alert to play the next hand. Sponsoring the 2008 WSOP tour wasn’t a bad idea either. If there is one thing a poker players like almost as much as playing poker, it’s watching it.

Upon opening the can my olfactory senses were excited. After taking the first taste I was very pleased with the Root Beer flavor. Yes, this is certainly good old-fashioned sarsaparilla. Unfortunately this does not last very long. The pleasant nose tickling carbonation quickly dissipates into a slimy, sweet, flat soda aftertaste. It’s not a terribly bad taste, but it kind of makes me feel the need to brush my teeth.

I finished the 250ml can in about ten minutes, as I tend to do with the smaller cans, and to avoid the aftertaste until the very end. After brushing my teeth I was already starting to feel a bit of energy. I decided to take a break from my tedious work schedule and sit down for an episode of Law and Order: CI.I was pretty jacked for about thirty minutes, but by the end of the show I was dozing off in my chair.

I will say at only ten calories per serving, with no sugar and no carbs, this is a great choice for the health conscious poker player (Wow, there’s an oxymoron for you). The biggest turn off is the price. At a little over two dollars a can, the only time you are likely to see me with a can would be in Vegas at a poker table next to Johnny Chan.

Jason's Review:
ALL IN is made with sucralose, which I enjoy in most other sugar free/low sugar products, and is a favorite of Glucoholic the Sugar Free Reviewer. I certainly think, having also enjoyed Jones Soda Sugar Free Root Beer, that sucralose is the natural choice for making an authentic-tasting sugar-free root beer.

So, as a point of reference, this tastes almost exactly like Jones Soda Sugar Free Root Beer, so if you've had it, and you like it, ALL IN is for you. Having enjoyed all the flavors, I don't think the root beer is their best flavor, but it's certainly enjoyable. I think it drinks smoothly, so I'm very inclined to consume it quickly, and consuming it quickly gets me jacked quickly.

Since I've not played a great deal of poker, and my working knowledge is based off the movie "Rounders", I have no idea how this would help you perform at the poker table. I thought everyone twisted apart Oreos and talked about perogies in Sputnik while playing poker. On the other hand, I know a great deal about Dragonball, and this drink makes me feel like I could go at least Super Saiyan, and would feel pretty good against any adversaries up to Cell, or perhaps Bojack and his crew.

At $2.08 each, I don't think this is a great value, except to 2 distinct groups. The first, people who play poker for tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars, and couldn't care less how much it costs. Secondly, people who love Splenda/Sucralose and are hampered by the distinct lack of these products in the energy drink realm. Otherwise, overpriced.
