The Lo-Carb Monster is a great alternative to the Original Monster. With a fraction of the sugar and even less calories, it's a great way to get a kick and still watch your figure.

This was my favorite for some time, less syrup than the regular Monster, and a lot less calories (important, since I'm watching my girlish figure). I think the Lo-Carb Monster or "blue" monster, tastes a lot like a variation of ginger ale, a light pleasant taste, but not always consistent from the factory (a can from one store may be very flavorful, a can from a store down the road may be fairly bland). This drink delivers a lot of energy for a nearly carb-free beverage. It also provides a host of vitamins, like getting a suppliment out of your soda. Hansen, the makers of Monster, know a lot about energy suppliments and vitamens, as they've been making these products for heatlth stores for years. The value is good, and you can often get these one sale, for as low as $1.25.each, if you buy in the four pack.

There is some speculation that this is the same beverage as Joker Mad Energy Lo Carb. It certainly tastes very close, and the ingredients are nearly the same. If you find Joker on sale, you may save some money over buying the authentic Monster Lo Carb. You also get a can with a cool cracked-out Jester, which Monster has yet to offer.

Although tasting exactly the same as regular Monster, having the same energy boost and costing the same amount, that is exactly the reason why I would give it a better score.
I have tried too many products whereby the original version is leagues apart from the diet, zero, low carb or low sugar version. I would happily taint my teeth with the sugary original for the original taste. It just seemed no company could disguise that awful bitterness that comes from sweeteners.
However, Hansen Beverages manages to pull off that same taste but have only 14% of the original sugar! If not smoother, I might add.
No doubt there is a myriad of other great tasting low sugar drinks out there, but Monster Lo-Carb was the first drink to open my eyes to the fact a great tasting drink doesn't need a heap load of sugar. If you can enjoy a drink and be guilt-free for the sugar why not? If they can make Monster taste like Monster, With 14% of the sugar, why can't everyone else? I was positive a good fizzy drink needed heaps of sugar but Monster proved me wrong. I'd go so far as to say it's set a standard for drinks to come. It should be a golden rule of energy drinks that if they can reduce the levels of sugar without harming the taste they should. It just benefits everyone.
If you're health conscious, it's got a very low sugar level. And if you're taste conscious it's delicious.
Would buy this over the original every time.

Ugh. How anyone can drink this is beyond me. I generally drink Amp, but I really like Monster in normal and Assault flavors. Wal-Mart was sold out of either yesterday, so I tried this. It tasted vaguely like Monster, but the aftertaste was so awful I couldn't really tell.

Regular Monster Energy Drink is better, this lo-carb monster is absolutely nasty.

I don't know what else "scorp" is using, but I suspect that Monster Energy Lo-Carb is the least of his problems. It is probably a good idea to take a short break from energy drinks occasionally though.

I always drink two lo-carb before a baseball game and it keeps me alert without making me sluggish.

As stated the taste of Monster Energy Lo-Carb is less syrupy and pretty decent, if not good. The energy boost is enough to keep me going at the end of a 20 hour shift so I don't turn into a walking zombie (prior to energy drinks I have literally fallen asleep standing up towards the end of working 2 20 hour shifts in a row.) Coming down isn't rough, no real crash (when taken for the normal energy boost - after a long shift anyone will crash.)

To completely enjoy the taste of the Monster lo-carb, it must be served COLD. The colder the better. I absolutely love the 32 ounce and guzzle it down. Amazing taste!

Provides no energy whatsoever. If anything, it made me feel lethargic from the start

Monster Lo-carb is the best. My best friends love this Monster, we have drank red bull, full throttle, and all kinds of drinks but Monster Lo-carb is the bestie!

I love Monster Lo Carb.. I always have one of the big ones (triple) like 10 minutes before I lift. InSANE workouts! :) And like the other Jason, I too am watching my girlish figure, so with just 30 calories in a big one, it's perfect. Also great for doing homework. 10*

Rather than giving me energy Monster made me tired and unfocused, with really slow reaction time. I would not recommend this drink to anyone. I bought it since it was cheaper than red bull... but now I know why. There's no substitute for Red Bull.

Great Drink. A friend of mine got me hooked on the regular Monster, but I only drink the lo-carb now because it is better for my weight loss program. I love the taste.

One bad thing.... I feel this drink is very addictive and habit forming. Been drinking the monster lo-carb for about 4 years now..... I felt like i had to have one every morning and 1 or 2 more during the day until about 4:00. I agree that it will weaken your natural ability to use and distribute its vitamin supply from natural foods and waters. Your brain basically shuts down its need to do this. And the longer you continue....OMG the needle and the damage done. 10 to 15 years down the road if your still doing this..your history in about 5 years. That means I could very easily die at 59 years of age. I'm done..so long moster energy... May the universe be with us.

I usually don't drink a whole lot of energy drinks cos I think they are really bad for you. But having tried the reduced carb Monster it tastes fantastic and has pretty much the same taste with that of the regular monster. It's five star drink by my standards!

I've personally had every monster except for the MixxD and coffee monster's and this lo-carb monster is my least favorite! When i saw this monster in the gas station i thought "awesome it's a monster with less carbs but all the energy!" but i was sadly mistaken, i took the first sip and it tasted like a normal monster but watered down so reluctantly i finished the drink and added it too the can collection, but i will never drink lo-carb monster again.
