Can Text:
Lightly Carbonated. Serve Chilled. Red Bull claims that it "Vitalizes body and mind". The back of the can states, "Improves performance, especially during times of increased stress or strain. Increases concentration and improves reaction speed. Stimulates the metabolism". The can looks pretty much like the "classic" red bull, with a lighter blue, to let people know that you're afraid of sugar. It contains phenylalanine, so the small percentage of people with a certain condition who are sensitive to this chemical, should avoid red bull sugar free.
Active Ingredients *Per can, not per serving:
"With Taurine", appears to be the biggest selling point, as it's on the front of the can, but also contains caffeine.

I think that it's good when companies become more health conscious. But honestly in this day and age, does it really matter? If you want to make your mark as a 'healthy' energy drink, it would have to be no sugar, no carbs, no sodium, no msg, low calorie, with extra tree bark and high fiber dirt. So does a little bit of sugar really matter? I thought we were all carb conscious now anyway. Low sugar drinks are so last year. Besides, most energy drinks average about 30g of sugar per serving. That's one ounce. Plus it's less sugar than you'd find in a Sprite.
So just because you can succeed in making an energy drink with no sugar doesn't mean you should because obviously to make it that way you have to add perfume to it. And I don't mean aromas or flavors. I mean perfume, like when you walk into a department store and some woman sprays you with some new fragrance and swears that now your man will be all over you, and she just so happened to catch you when you were yawning and now it's all in your mouth. What the lady at the counter doesn't tell you is that perfume is made from secretions from a variety of animals including, cat, deer, beaver, and some type of scab-like substance that forms on the inner lining of sperm whale intestines which are eventually 'excreted', meaning crapped out. This is called ambergris, and this is not made up. That kind of perfume taste, along with a little fruit flavor and some syrup.
I don't think there was much of an energy boost. I didn't fall asleep, but I didn't chug this down because I wanted to feel like I got my money's worth of soda. Less than two minutes worth of soda does not equal $2 of soda.

5Jason's Review:
The initial taste is much better than regular red bull, but the aftertaste lingers for some time, like an aerosol hair spray directly in the mouth. The 10 calories is good, but they make up for it with a lot of sodium, so it's not thirst quenching at all. I think it's a reasonably tasty beverage. I'm hard-pressed to give any $2 8.3oz soda a unsullied review. My complaint with Red Bull from day 1 has been quantity to cost. It has a reasonable energy kick, and is a good choice if you have a bladder the size of a walnut.

I absolutely adore Red Bull Sugar Free. I'm a stage actor and musician and when I want to focus, this is where I turn, two-fisting with my bottle of water. :o) I'd honestly give it 10/10 and I'd choose Sugar Free over Regular any day of the week for the flavor alone. I also have a mild heart condition and cannot drink energy drinks with things like guarana (Rockstar, Bawls) as they give me heart palpitations big time, then I pass out - I'd like to avoid that, TYVM. This has a comparatively mild amount of caffeine and the taurine definitely works.

Why the heck should Red Bull not produce sugar free energy drinks? I for myself have a disease where I have to abandon sugar. So it's perfect for me. There are quite a lot ppl out there that have problems with sugar be it because they have a disease or be it because of weight problems.

Yeah it might be a little expensive, but there's no substitute for Red Bull. Being a server I have to have a lot of energy, and not only does it do that but it helps me stay focused. The sugar free doesn't taste as great as regular Red Bull, but for only 10 calories it's not bad.

I only wish Red Bull cans would list the amount of caffeine. Rock Star does -- 240 mg (which is about twice what works for me so I drink half a can at a time). Red Bull leaves you guessing. Why not mention the amount of the ingredient that matters most in an energy drink? Edited by Jason: I believe energy fiend lists Red Bull's caffeine content as 80mg/8.3fl. oz.

I'm sure it's been made abundantly clear that this is overpriced, but that does not mean it's bad! Red Bull sugar free is a decent energy drink. The energy blend is definitely below average, but it still provides enough kick to get me through smaller tasks. There are many energy drinks i would buy instead of this, however.

I doubt most people buy sugar free or low carb because they are scared of carbs or sugar, they most likely buy it for fewer calories. 110 to 220 calories for a drink is insane, you're better off saving those calories to eat something.

I'm looking at the back of the sugarfree can, and I'm not sure that Angie did. This product is not only sugarfree. It only has 10 calories and 3 grams of carbs. It's not perfect, but much better than you described. Not to mention it gives a great alternative to the "juice" they serve at bars that are full of sugar and who knows what else. I think overall it's a great product. More expensive than a Monster, but I think it's crazy that people grab a 16 oz can at all. The Monster can says servings 2 for a reason. Many people overlook the serving size on products and I think that's why we have so many overweight people in this country. Everything in moderation is best.
